The book contains nice explanations of the various aspects of the STM32 series of boards. However, focus on a closed non-free, and above all, pretty expensive IDE, that is practically out of reach for an every day Hobbyist, especially when there are trued and tested open source alternatives, leaves a lot to be desired for. In any case, still a good starting point to wrapping one's head around the hardware aspects of the STM32 boards.
